My name is Jim, I'm a parent of two. One child of my own and one adopted child which we were foster Parents for. We adore children and their well being. We have had several foster children in our home along with our regular child and an adopted special needs child. Growing up during the beginning of the computer/and start of the internet age, I have seen the internet from it's start to what it has became now. I knew the internet is not a safe place and never was really concerned about it until an
incident with one of my foster children which woke me up to the threats out there.
My own child was on a "safe" site for children only. A kind of child version of
MySpace. The site logs all and emails all activity and conversations during sessions for me to look at to see what my child is up to when online. To my alarm I discovered that it wasn't a safe place either.
Grateful enough that my child did almost the right thing and ignored the comments made to them, she still went against what I had told her and gave out personal information including our phone number. Looking through the log, the person she was talking to also gave out enough details that I was able to in less than 1 hour track the person down in
California. The information given was enough that I was able to get a name, address and phone number for the person. I then called the number and had a nice talk with the parent of who my daughter was talking to. That is I hope it was the parent of the person my daughter was talking to and not some freak out there. I did also notify the website of my findings and forwarded everything and the information I gathered to the CFEC to have in case they wanted it.
Our goal of this page is to raise the funds to educate children on safe internet practices and the dangers out there as well as fund projects dealing with this topic as well as funding authorities in rural areas to aid in on-line monitoring where funding isn't provided for by the rural communities such as the area I reside in. The police in the rural area are very new to internet crime as is most communities in the country. Our funding helps rural area to get involved by funding programs and the compensation of off duty hired officers that are involved in our cause. The reason officers are involved are if anything happens, there is a legal authority which can be
testament in the prosecution of exploiters of children.
We hope that you can join our cause and help fight the internet exploitation of our children. You can support us in many ways.
Volunteering with us, supporting us by buying pixels or donations to us or other organizations which fight the exploitation of children.
